As one of the kingdom's oldest shrines, it remains a vital center for royal celebrations, offering a deep connection to Bhutan's ancient Buddhist roots. Inside the main hall lies a national treasure: a sacred Shakyamuni Buddha statue that mirrors Tibet's revered Jowo. The temple also houses the relic stupa of the great Nyingma master Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. From ancient iron chains forged by Tangtong Gyalpo to unique spiritual artifacts, every detail preserves the profound historical and religious depth of this sacred sanctuary. At last, head back to Paro for overnight. Optional Bhutan Paro Experiences: 1. Bhutan Traditional Hot Stone Bath (1 hour). 2. Lighting butter lamps for blessings at Kyichu Lhakhang (108 lamps).
